NI YGN and Finnish Nuclear Society Seminar Day

DBD are proud to support the Nuclear Institute’s Young Generation Network (YGN) and were in attendance at the YGN & Finnish Nuclear Society Seminar day in London on 29th October. Hugh Allen, a process engineer who started at DBD on our graduate training programme, gave a presentation on his recent work for our client Sellafield to representatives from the Finnish Nuclear Society. The Society had been on a tour of the UK’s nuclear sites over the course of the week and the seminar day marked the end of an enjoyable and informative week for them.

Evaporator D project with partners Costain continues at pace

Our partnership with Costain continues to go from strength to strength this year, with ongoing project support.

DBD currently leads the commissioning of the Sellafield Evaporator D project for Costain. As the project progresses through to commissioning, the team is working alongside the design team, which still has key support from DBD Process engineering, and construction team. The commissioning element continues to monitor works acceptance testing and develop the main phase test documentation in readiness for on-site implementation.

In addition DBD are undertaking the role of Nuclear Safety Case Compliance Management, alongside the Sellafield Ltd Client team. This role acts as the interface between the Client organisation and our partners Costain in their role as the prime contractor, and ensures that all the documentation required to allow construction to progress is in place.
